Shannon Hopkins
founder & Pilates Instructor
Shannon is comprehensively certified through Balanced Body and brings over 12 years of teaching experience and expertise to the studio. She holds additional certifications, including Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, and ACE Group Fitness. She completed her Pilates certification in the United States training at Core Studios in Las Vegas, NV, and Konnect Pilates (now Blue Moon Pilates), Turning Point Studios, and Absolute Center in California allowing her to learn a variety of styles from experts across the field.
She discovered her love for Pilates during a particularly stressful period in her life, when her first reformer class provided a much-needed hour of respite with the focus on body and breath. Although she was already an avid gym-goer and hiker, she found that Pilates revealed a new depth to her physical capabilities. This newfound confidence and strength encouraged her to pursue circus arts, an aspiration she once believed was beyond her reach. Motivated by these experiences, she became a teacher to share the profound benefits of Pilates with others.
Shannon is passionate about continued education and has completed additional training on several topics including pre/post-natal, back pain/injuries, shoulder injuries, Parkinson’s Disease, scoliosis, active aging, osteoporosis, and athletic Pilates. She is committed to creating safe, effective, and enjoyable Pilates sessions for clients of all ages and fitness levels.
Her classes are primarily conducted in English, but she can also provide intermediate-level communication in French when needed.
